We replaced an old, tired VELUX roof window with a new unit, improving insulation, weather protection and ease of use while bringing fresh light into the room.
The client contacted Swiss Build because their existing VELUX roof window was showing its age. It still brought daylight into the room, but the window looked tired, and they wanted a modern replacement with better insulation, smoother operation and dependable weather protection. They wanted the new window to suit both the roof and the room without changing the appearance of the property unnecessarily.
The brief was to assess the existing window and roof opening, recommend a suitable VELUX replacement and provide a clear quotation before work began. The client wanted the old window carefully removed, the new unit fitted with the correct flashing and weatherproofing, and the surrounding finishes made good. A tidy installation with minimal disruption was just as important as the finished window.
Our six-step VELUX window replacement process takes the job from the first survey through to final handover. We protect the home, carefully remove the old window, prepare the roof opening and fit the new unit with suitable weatherproofing. We finish by checking its operation and leaving the room neat and tidy.

We installed the new window with suitable flashing and insulation, then reinstated the surrounding roof covering for a weather-tight finish.
We made good around the frame, tested the window’s operation, cleared the work area and handed the new window over to the client.
