Comfort through every season. Swiss Build installs carefully planned heating and cooling systems for homes, home offices and workplaces across Northamptonshire.

Single-room systems  •  Multi-room systems  •  Homes & commercial spaces

One system, two seasons

Cool in summer. Warm in winter.

Modern air-to-air heat pumps are often called air conditioning. A suitable reversible system can cool your rooms in warm weather and provide heating when the temperature drops.

From a single bedroom to several rooms in your home or business, we look at the space, the route for pipework, electrical supply and the position of the outdoor unit before recommending a solution.

The right fit for your space

Heating and cooling without a full refurbishment

Wall mounted indoor units can be a practical choice for bedrooms, loft rooms, garden rooms, home offices, living areas and smaller commercial spaces. We plan the installation around the way you use the room and the finish you want.
Our solutions

Air conditioning systems for the way you live and work

Choose the scope that fits your rooms. We will check suitability and sizing during the survey.
01

Single-room air conditioning

Single-room air conditioning
A single split system for a bedroom, living room, loft space or home office. Heat or cool the room when you need it, with a neat indoor unit and an outdoor unit positioned after a survey.

02

Multi-room heat pumps

Connect more than one indoor unit to a suitable outdoor unit. A multi-split design gives separate rooms their own controls, subject to the selected equipment and system design.
03

Workplace heating & cooling

Improve comfort in offices, meeting rooms, shops and staff areas. Swiss Build can coordinate the installation with other building and electrical work on your premises.
Already have an older system? Ask us to assess whether replacement is the best route when you request a quote.
Clear advice before you commit

Designed around your property, not a one-size-fits-all package

Correct sizing and placement matter. We assess the rooms, available electrical supply, condensate drainage, pipework route, outdoor unit airflow and practical access before we prepare a detailed quotation.

How an air-to-air system works

Outdoor unit
Moves heat to or from outside air
Indoor unit
Heats or cools the room air
A reversible system changes direction for heating or cooling. It normally does not heat water for taps or showers.
Understand the difference

Air-to-air or air-to-water heat pump?

Both take heat from outside air, but they deliver it differently.

Air-to-air: the focus of this page

Indoor fan units heat the room air and many reversible systems also cool it. They generally do not supply domestic hot water.

Air-to-water: a different heating project

These systems feed a wet central heating circuit such as radiators or underfloor heating and may heat a hot water cylinder. Ask us about a separate assessment if you are planning a full heating change.

Frequently asked questions

Good questions before choosing a system

Every property is different. We can advise after seeing your rooms and the possible outdoor unit location.
Is an air-to-air heat pump the same as air conditioning?
Reversible split air conditioning uses heat pump technology to move heat. It can provide cooling in summer and heating in winter, provided the chosen system is designed for both modes.
Yes, a suitable multi-split system can connect several indoor units to one outdoor unit. The available combinations, capacities and pipe lengths depend on the equipment and property layout.
Standard split air-to-air systems heat or cool room air. They do not normally provide hot water for taps and showers, so you need a separate hot water solution.
It depends on the number and type of units, pipe and electrical routes, access and any associated works. Send us the rooms and property details and we can arrange an assessment and itemised quotation.
It needs suitable airflow, safe access and an appropriate location for noise, appearance, drainage and pipe routes. We check the practical options during the site survey; any permissions should be confirmed for your property.
